The Lusaka decongestion programme has hit a notable milestone this month, with two of the six priority corridors moving from earthworks into asphalt-laying. Contractors on site reported steady progress despite the late rains.
We spoke to site supervisors at three of the active corridors. The consistent feedback: material logistics have improved, and locally-trained machine operators are now handling the bulk of the paving work — a meaningful shift compared to last year.
